Hey everybody. Hope you're all doing well. I'm here to once again talk about the future of the project.

It's actually double-dog-cancelled. No, but seriously. Working on the Chapter 3 script after a little break from the project in general, changed my perfective on this project. So, it is with pleasure that I hereby "un-cancel" Four Seasons Apart! That's right, work on the game will be continue on past Chapter 3, intending to end at the Epilogue as first announced here. However, there will be some changes, so let's go over them. TL:DR available at the end.

Updates

Through the production of this project I have attempted and failed to deliver monthly builds. With the power of hindsight, I can see that as an unnecessary limitation that may have negatively impacted the story. So, to rid myself of unnecessary and for the sake of better writing, 4SA's updates will come out "when they are done." I understand this may be cause for distrust, but I request you trust me on this one for the sake of the project.

Sprites and CGs

There are still no future plans for Sprite work to be integrated into 4SA, as such, it will remain spriteless and in NVL format for the foreseeable future. That said, this this reinvigoration, has made me excited to have scenes depicted by artists, so, while there are no concrete plans for CGs at the moment, those are not out of the question.

Chapter 3 Update

So, when's that coming out, huh? Hilariously, I will miss this monthly release as well. For now, the first draft is complete, so the current work is being done to edit it and make it "Ren'py friendly." The draft sits as the largest chapter so far (and largest single piece of text I've ever done) with about 14.000 words. The total for the project now sits at around 27k words! The longest... anything I've ever put out! Hopefully, you all look forward to the conclusion of Part 1 Cotswolds Summer coming out very soon.

A surprise?

So, to commemorate the de-cancellation of the project, I have commissioned artist Hunter Husky to make a promotional image which you should be able see soon! However, he up and gave me a little sketch image featuring the Andrew and Dylan! Check it out!

TL;DR

4SA is back, future updates might be more sparse. Chapter 3 is coming out soon, but likely not in January.
